    $25,000 Challenge

Read and Feed has been issued a challenge to raise $25,000 from new donors. Once we reach that goal, those donations will be matched with an additional $25,000 donation. $50,000 will go a long way towards meeting the reading needs of the children we serve. Please help us meet this challenge. Donate now.

In Wake County schools, a third of students  receive  free or reduced-cost lunches. And those students often have the hardest time learning to read – a key skill for success in school and life. We can make a difference in their lives through volunteers.

The Need

When kids can’t read, they sit in our classrooms disengaged, disinterested, and sometimes defiant. They know they can’t read and may feel embarrassed, angry and frustrated.

Our solution

We provide as many low-income families as possible with the most basic of resources: food, books and tutoring assistance in a warm, nurturing environment in their own neighborhoods.

Our Impact

88% of children who attend a Read and Feed program have improved reading attitude or confidence. And teachers tell us their discipline improves and the students do their homework.
