Subhag is a high school student who volunteers as a tutor
Subhag is a rising sophomore at Enloe High School, and he and his mother volunteer as tutors on Monday evenings. Subhag says, “I decided to volunteer because I realized that I could make a difference by sharing my knowledge with young children who are having trouble with reading and writing.”
Each week, Subhag has been tutoring a child named Hemchand and helping him progress in his reading skills and vocabulary words.
Subhag explains, “What I like about the Read and Feed program is that I act as a friend to Hemchand, rather than a teacher. By playing games, I not only help Hemchand to improve his comprehension, phonetic, and grammatical skills, but also forge a connection with him. This is what truly makes Read and Feed special.”
