Program and Evaluation Director
Mission: To strengthen literacy skills among under-served elementary school children, and provide meals in a nurturing neighborhood environment
Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, with support from the Chief of Staff, the Program and Evaluation Director will be responsible for providing leadership in program development, management, and evaluation. This is a full time exempt position.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and manage programs with team support.
- Select, organize, and ensure successful implementation of all program sites.
- Conduct program evaluation, including collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
- Maintain and update program curricula, based on research-based best practices for literacy education.
- Establish and maintain relationships with program partners, i.e. school principals and literacy/ESL teachers, social workers, community partners, parents/students, and company executives.
- Responsible for budget management and input on budget development.
- Manage direct reports which may include: Volunteer Coordinator, Program Site Coordinators, paid RV drivers, and others as determined by the Executive Director
- Promote the mission and vision of Read and Feed to community groups.
- Other duties as assigned, to support carrying out the mission.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work/Public Health or other relevant study.
- Prior experience working in a nonprofit organization or elementary education preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to lift 20 lbs (books and program materials)
- Well developed organizational, administrative, and time management skills.
- Previous program design and management experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, teamwork orientation
- Skill and experience in working cross-culturally.
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in using Microsoft products such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word as well as Google Suite products.
- Experience using Salesforce and volunteer management software products.
- Ability and willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
