Fall Program Update
09/01/2020
COVID-19 is going nowhere fast. As such, our programs and services this Fall will look a little different. Our priority remains the same: provide healthy meals, age-appropriate books, and school supplies to those who need them most. While we meet these pressing needs, we are in constant conversation with our partner schools and other non-profit organizations to determine the best methods that support children who struggle to read.
Our goal is to keep students engaged in and excited about reading. We are excited to announce a new collaboration with the Families and Schools Together (FAST) initiative. FAST’s aim is to ensure all families in Wake County have support for remote learning during the workday. In staffed, small-group and socially distanced learning centers across Wake County, children will learn and play throughout the day.
I look forward to sharing more information about our services as they take shape. The start of the school year will reveal many more children in need of support, encouragement, and guidance in their reading. Thank goodness we can count on people like you to help.
Gratefully,
Kati Mullan
