Tamara Anderson
Tamara began volunteering with Read and Feed in 2015. After retiring from her career in Information Technology, Tamara knew she wanted to use her talents and passions to tutor or to provide food to her community. With Read and Feed, she found one organization where she can do both.
For six years Tamara has tutored students weekly at our program site at Grace Bible Fellowship Church.
“It’s great to work with the same children over a school year and watch how they progress, get to know more about them, and share in their appreciation,” says Tamara.
In addition to tutoring, Tamara assumed additional responsibilities as a food pick up volunteer, delivering nutritional meals to the program sites before tutoring starts. Amidst COVID-19, Tamara has kept kids reading throughout Wake County by picking up meals and books and distributing them in the neighborhoods we serve.
When not volunteering, Tamara and her husband run a small business, Anderson Videography, where they record performing arts events. You will also find Tamara coaching teens and young adults with autism as well as spending family time with her 3 adult children and soon-to-be-four granddaughters!
Thank you, Tamara for your incredible dedication to give KIDS and appetite for READING. Your contributions have made, and will continue to make, a terrific impact on the students and our community!
