I leave feeling renewed.

I just have to take the time to tell you how amazing the Read and Feed Program is. I love helping at Read and Feed. All of the volunteers welcome me and make me feel like a superstar when I show up to volunteer. I leave feeling renewed and am a better teacher after I volunteer. It is so exciting to see a program that is changing children’s lives. I could not believe it when I sat down with one of my students that was in my class a few years ago. He is reading fluently and could sound out every word in a very difficult biography book. It amazed me. He told me he loves coming to Read and Feed. I am the one who put him in the program. He could not speak any English. Now he is reading a high level book and could retell what he read to me tonight.

I see the students in the hall way during the school week. They wave and smile at me. Then they ask me if I am coming to Read and Feed. They tell me they cannot wait to go. I have a student attending Read and Feed this year. She has made so much growth in reading and now loves reading. She is the happiest on Thursday and I know it is because she gets to go to Read and Feed. I saw her love grow for reading after you started attending Read and Feed. Tonight, I brought a friend who teaches at my school tonight. She was so impressed and said it was so fun to help.

I am so thankful that I am part of the program. If you ever need me to tell others about the impact that Read and Feed has on children I would love to.
